Important Notes:
- Be sure your liquid comes into contact with the pump mechanism as this activates the airless seal.
- Screw pump tightly into place.
- As you use your travel bottles the piston moves your liquid up to the pump.
For Best Results:
- Avoid air bubbles when filling, which may cause pump to stall.
- Avoid storing in extreme heat, which may cause leaking.
- Do not fill with acetone, thick creams or pulp products.
- Dishwasher safe on air dry only.
To Re-Fill:
- As you use your toiletry, the opaque piston automatically rises from the bottom to provide you with complete, airless delivery of your favorite product. When bottle is empty, use the piston stick included in your kit to gently push the opaque piston back to the bottom.
- Clean as needed, and your Pitotubes will be ready again for travel.
To Sterilize:
Do not boil your Pitotubes, it will ruin the seal of the piston at the bottom of the bottle and cause them to leak.
In order to safely sterilize the bottle, fill the bottle with 3% hydrogen peroxide (available at Walgreens, Wal-Mart or any grocery store, etc.) and pump through the bottle. Then rinse the bottle with sterile water AND pump through the bottle. Sterile water is water that you boil and then allow to return to room temperature. It is important to thoroughly remove the hydrogen peroxide from the bottle by rinsing and pumping as peroxide can irritate the mucus membrane of the eye. Once done, it is safe to fill your bottle with contact lens solution.
Keep in mind that you can transfer bacteria from the outside of ANY bottle to your hands. So wash the outside of the bottle each time while washing your hands to remove bacteria from the exterior of the bottle before dispensing contact lens solution.
